Getting Your Music on BPR
If you think your music would be a perfect fit for Boston Progress Radio, you’ve come to the right place. However, in order to ensure that we don’t get in trouble with the law, we need musicians to let us play their music. Ideally, you should follow the steps below. [Of course, we will also happily accept verbal permission from artists or their managers, if that is simpler.]
Note that we aren’t lawyers and have no lawyers giving us advice. The idea is that we want to be transparent about the fact that we’re playing your music. And you’ll also be a part of our community.
Instructions for Artists and/or Representatives
To submit your music to Boston Progress Radio:
- Download the agreement form (PDF) and music description form (PDF).
- Familiarize yourself with the terms and complete both forms. Be sure to sign the forms.
- Return the form by mail or in person along with an audio CD containing the music or spoken words you want to be played. You may also choose to fax your form to us. Contact us if you wish to fax us your form.
- Once we receive your form, we’ll sign it, make a copy and send the original back to you. Meanwhile, we’ll load the CD up into our playlists.
If you have any questions about the forms or questions about how to get your music to us, please ask! Contact us at info #AT# bprlive.org.
While BPR is focused on supporting Asian American musicians and spoken word artists, BPR welcomes independent artists of all ethnic backgrounds to submit music. If we like your music after reviewing your submission, your music will be added to our collection and we’ll start playing it on BPR.
