April is National Poetry Month!!

This isn’t a joke!!  (But I liked that Boloco joke… that they changed their name to Bogoco.  Buy one, get one… Yum.)

April is National Poetry Month!  Courtesy of my friend Robin who blogs over at The Big Window I learned about Writers in the Schools (WITS) in Houston.  You can sign up to get an email sent to you every day in April with a poem written by a WITS student.

Here’s the poem that I received today… it was a nice change of pace from the other stuff in my inbox.  You can click over here to sign up to receive emails too!!  Enjoy!!

Song

You’re wondering if I’m as wild as a tiger,
or cattle stampeding,
a bull kicking very hard.
You want to tell me if I am as wild
as a horse that’s hungry and mad,
a monkey swinging from branch to branch,
a dragon blowing fire.
If I am wild as a fire out of a rocket,
a comet in high speed,
a very strong blizzard.
I’m as wild as a bomb exploding,
lightning striking,
a heart beating fast.

Because yesterday was April Fool’s Day and anything could be a joke. Or are you joking about not knowing? So the joke is really on me?

Yeah, I got confused by what was and wasn’t a joke yesterday.

Here’s my favorite joke though, courtesy of the 4.5 year old jokster in my life:

Q: Why did the chicken cross the road?
A: To get to Drumlin Farm! (A farm she visited on a class trip last year.)

    Cue insane amounts of laughter.
