The Takeover Part Uno: A Deported Diaspora Fundraising Concert / MARCH 27TH
| March 27, 2009 | ||
| 7:00 pm | to | 10:30 pm |
On March 27th, Deported Diaspora and the UMass Boston Asian American Studies Program will be hosting The Takeover Part Uno, a fundraising concert featuring Hari the Comic, Tem Blessed, Shokanti and Third World Entertainment.
Proceeds will benefit Deported Diaspora, co-founded by BPAC-loved Dimple Rana, a multiracial organization advocating for and supporting individuals and families who have been affected by deportation. While based in Boston, MA, with little initial funding, their organizing efforts have reached communities in Haiti, Cape Verde and Cambodia.
Location and Cost: $20 w/ Deported Diaspora t-shirt, $10 regular and FREE for UMass Boston students (I should scrounge around and try to find my old ID…). Show starts at 7pm at the Snowden Auditorium at UMass Boston. Take the Red Line to JFK/UMass and on your way there, tell everyone on the T about it.
