East Meets Words Featuring Two Warriors

July 11, 2008
8:00 pmto10:30 pm

It is summer time in Boston. Hot and humid on some days and thunderstorming on other days. People are either splashing around outside in the outdoor pools or huddling inside next to their air conditioners or lounging next to their grills with their meats. Well this week, it is time to gear up for July’s installment of East Meets Words Open Mic brought to you by your friends at Boston Progress Arts Collective.

Two WarriorsThis month’s feature is Two Warriors. Two Warriors is a New-York based poetry duo that found life by bringing together stories of love, peace, family, tribute and tradition in their writing. In an effort to break down barriers and provide a sense of home for everyone through their performances, Two Warriors aims to involve the crowd, interact with the audience, interpret stories, infuse emotion, and inspire hearts and minds.

I met Harry (”The Warrior of Peace”) and Mark (”The Warrior of Love”) back in August 2007 at the APIA Spoken Word Summit. Last time I saw them, they put on a pretty good show. I’m looking forward to seeing them perform some new pieces! Come join us at the East Meets Words Bookstore at 934 Massachusetts Ave in Cambridge at 8pm on July 12. Bring $3 and an open ear. You won’t be disappointed.
