Congrats Helen and Lia!!
This is kind of amazing… the New York Times homepage has a photo of Asian American activist Helen Zia getting married today in San Francisco.
I think it’s awesome that a lesbian Asian American couple is pictured… and that same-sex couples are getting married in California… (unless you live in Kern County).

Awesome. I <3 Helen. What is also awesome is that two asian americans are marrying. I don’t know if that’s really a big deal. I just get an extra warm and fuzzy feeling.
helen was in fact very supportive of boston progress when we produced Missed Sigh Gone back in 2004 or 2005. she met with us when she was in town and encouraged us to go through with it.
we promised we’d send her a video of it and…uh, we…should probably get moving on that…
maybe you could send it as a wedding gift…
