…don’t give a f**k about a badge, I got quick hands…
Now that that’s out of the way, I can say that the above music video for “Pull It Back” is fire. It isn’t very slick, but it’s extremely well crafted, with Bam shooting in various locales to basically send the message that no matter where you’re at, kids are willing to pull it back. And it kind of got the opposite vibe from the Black Eyed Peas stuff, when they call every major and minor Filipino American celebrity to appear – ain’t nothing wrong with that either – but this is basically just Bam with a bunch of kids he knows. I recognize some of them – but in general, it’s just folks from the block.
And I don’t want to overhype it, but there’s not anything about this track that could have been done better. The beat is so spare, but menacing, and Bam’s delivery is the same way. Even though he’s mad versatile and energetic, he keeps it laid back and matter-of-fact on this one. Simultaneously funny and threatening, this is one of those songs that you won’t want to bump unless you’re really going to listen. This one got me ready to peep the whole CD, “…i scream bars for the children…” – which I promise I will review here on BPRLive when it arrives in my mailbox. We’ll be getting our shipment to make available at our store soon, but in the meantime, get your fix here.
